Thank you for finding We’re Conquering Cancer! And thank you for reading my story.

In 2011, I was diagnosed with cancer. The news was devastating but like most patients you find the courage to carry on. I went through the usual treatment including surgery, chemo, radiation, and many years of cancer preventing drugs. It was a long and very difficult journey but the story ends well.

In late 2012, several months after my active treatment ended, I began another life-changing journey~I began planning adventure retreats in Yosemite National Park for women with cancer! The trip was open to women currently battling their disease or for those whose battle was behind them!

Beginning in 2013 and repeating once or twice a year, I have been taking women to Yosemite for several days of amazing sight-seeing, walking and hiking. We enjoy delicious and healthy food, fantastic lodging, bonding, wonderful company, laughing, crying, and a new-found sense of hope! Since then, over one hundred women have attended and many of them return every year! Thus far we have experienced ten retreats and various additional fun events together!

These retreats are life-changing for many of us, but most-of-all, me. There is something magical about being in Yosemite with others that have had the same life-altering experience as you. And the joy in Yosemite is lasting! Nothing beats the majesty and healing power of Yosemite National Park!
